The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc., a non-profit corporation, was incorporated in the State of Maryland on December 29, 1986. The corporation was established as the tax-deductible arm of the Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Charities is managed by a Board of Directors. According to the organization’s Bylaws, no more than 25 individuals--all of whom are members of Iota Gamma Omega--constitute the Board. The Board exercises all corporate powers and performs all lawful acts required of and permitted to the Board of Directors of a non-profit corporation.
The members of The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc. are committed to continuing to provide ongoing activities, which address community service and educational needs of the community. The Institute for the Growth and Development of All America's Youth exists to provide an opportunity for the youth of Prince George’s County to enhance and cultivate their educational, cultural, community, and social growth through educational workshops, cultural activities, and participation in community service programs and projects.

The purpose of The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County Maryland, Inc. (Charities) is to support the educational, charitable, cultural, and general welfare of economically and socially disadvantaged residents of Prince George’s County.
